چکیده

Objective Heliciopsis terminalis (Kurz.) Sleum (family Proteaceae) is distributed in India, Mianma, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and China. In Vietnamese traditional medicine, it used as an antidote for detoxifying the liver alcohol, a contraceptive, to treat infections. The purpose of this study determine chemical constituents plant, well their vitro hepatoprotective antioxidant activities. Methods dried powdered sample was ultrasonically extracted with MeOH, extract fractionated by various chromatographic methods, including high-performance liquid chromatography. structures isolated compounds were identified NMR, high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, CD spectral analysis, then screened Results One new phenolic glycoside, named helitermioside (1), eight known (2-9) from trunk branches H terminalis. All isolates reported first time. Compound 6 showed activity thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) lipid peroxidation inhibition assays, IC 50 value 61.16 ± 1.17 µg/mL, compared that Trolox (positive control), = 7.06 0.11 µg/mL. At concentration 100 none exhibited hepatocellular protective activity. Conclusion Nine (1–9) recorded Of these, compound 1 new. moderate TBARS but against CCl 4 -induced toxicity.

Phenolic compounds and antioxidant activities of Liriope muscari.

Five phenolic compounds, namely N-trans-coumaroyltyramine (1), N-trans-feruloyltyramine (2), N-trans-feruloyloctopamine (3), 5,7-dihydroxy-8-methoxyflavone (4) and (3S)3,5,4'-trihydroxy-7-methoxy-6-methylhomoisoflavanone (5), were isolated from the fibrous roots of Liriope muscari (Liliaceae). Compounds 2-5 were isolated for the first time from the Liriope genus. Their in vitro antioxidant acti...

Assessing antioxidant and prooxidant activities of phenolic compounds.

Methods for determining primary antioxidant activity were evaluated. A beta-carotene bleaching method and a free radical method using 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH(*)) were modified to rapidly test samples for potential antioxidant activity. Malonaldehyde production in a linoleic acid emulsion system assayed by an HPLC method was also used to determine antioxidant and prooxidant activiti...

Non-phenolic antioxidant compounds from Buddleja asiatica.

The methanol extract of the leaves of Buddleja asiatica Lour. (Loganiaceae) showed antioxidant activity toward the well known in vitro antioxidant tests such as total antioxidant capacity by the phosphomolybdenum method, free radical scavenging activity by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl scavenging assay (DPPH assay) and hydrogen peroxide scavenging methods. Due to the high scavenging activit...
